What's special about this master piece?
The art has been cut into 12 square pieces and viewers can rearrange the pieces as the way they like, flexible. The art itself is called Unknown because it's undetermined, nobody knows, it remains.
What's the main concept?
The concept is Creative Factory, the factory itself produces unknown products whereby it stands for unique students of FCM. Every each of them has a certain capability to create/generate idea, design, concept and so on.

How is it related to the concept?
We are the pieces, lecturers are the artist, they decide us how it will look like, how it is going to form the new piece. Every new piece of art within the frame can forms an unique art (individual).

How Merges Go Wrong?

DOUBLE LADDER
Double ladder, elephants and giraffe share the same function. Take elephant for example, they use their trunk to reach out far objects, like fruits on the tree or even water which is far from their reach. Mean while for the giraffe, with their long neck, they can grab fruits from high tree and even drink water, just like the elephant. So here’s a photomanip of the animal.

Lions and eagles, they are famous for their hunting abilities which their prey won’t go far with their sharp vision, great hearing ability and sensitive nose.

Invention / Innovation / Novelty

What is Innovation?

1. Innovation is to bring new ideas and make changes.
2. Introducing something new to make something better.
3. It is a creation resulting from study and experimentation.
4. Idea selection, development and commercialization.
5. It turns ideas into practical reality and usually increase productivity.
6. “Innovation occurs when someone uses an invention or an idea to change how the world works, how people organize themselves, or how they conduct their lives.”, from Wikipedia.

What is novelty?

1. It is something new and unusual and it requires originality and newness.
2. It is a previously unknown thing or experience.
3. It generates an new idea, it can be new perspective for fashion, design, experience…etc…

For example:

A novelty clock design. It is very suitable to put it on your study table together with your books.

Novelty watermelon carving arts. It needs effort and skill.

Novelty USB and USB Hubsdesign.

So what else can we do with USB technology other than storing data? Think of any? Here’s some unique examples I would like to share with:

USB warm slippers. Feeling cold in your room? Now you can online and chat with friends in MSN yet can stay warm. What you need to do is just plug the USB slipper to your PC and wear the slipper. Wow…

What is Invention?

1. It is a process of accomplishing something new.
2. A good Invention needs highly creativity, innovation and novelty.
3. It is combination of elements that usually would not be put together.
4. It is to create something useful to the world.
5. To invent is to raise something people think impossible, to create new possibilities.
6. “An invention is the creation of a new configuration, composition of matter, device or process.”, from Wikipedia.

An invention is a creation based on the existing elements but it create new functions and configurations. Here are two interesting videos I found in Youtube about the invention in the past. Some of the inventions might not turn out well but I think it does not matter because people learn from mistake.

This video make me laugh a lot yet I salute them because they created the world where we live now. Now let’s see this amazing invention which may change our life. An inventor who was trying to find a cure to kill cancer cells turned up another mighty invention. Salt water can be burned. If this invention came to a success we can save money on petrol! ^^

This is a blog which we students are gather around to discuss or share their endless creative path, it just never ends

What to expect from this class?
Well, creative thinking teaches how to define the real creativity or more like building a strong foundation on the way to be creative. Throughout the lectures, it’s interesting to touch on the mind maps. I’ve been intro to mind map ever since I was on secondary school, teachers uses to mind maps to help us memorize the facts and points.

However, in FCM’s Creative Studies, it’s somehow different from the days that I what I’ve learnt in the course. What do I really expect to learn is from common mind maps to “radiant thinking”; I’m really looking forward to learn this skill.
